In a nutshell, I visualize it and describe it as a: "A dark epic space opera, horror military science fiction universe. The story will be told in an epic scale with highly mature themes, featuring an engrossing galaxy to explore and myriads of races to encounter and enemies to battle, in space and on land."

You are an operative, in the middle of a growing conflict between humans, overseen by alien mediators, and unaware of a growing threat in the unknown regions of space, where a twisted, depraved and brutal empire thirsts to unleash a legendary war of intergalactic proportions upon the unsuspecting galaxy. Will you unite the galaxy against this threat? Or will old and new hatreds immortalize themselves in ignorance to the threat?

It (in it's current state, and hence, subject to change) revolves around humanity in a post-Earth colonial environment, building vibrant and culturally diverse empires across hundreds of worlds thousands of years in the future, encountering alien species and a galactic union of allied races.

The galaxy is at an uneasy crossroads: the alien Galactic Union struggles to mediate discontent and squabbling over colonization and inter-species integration, as well as xenophobia prevalent with clashing species, ideologies and extremist political and socio-religious views.

An Earth-dominant Consortium is inducted into this union and find themselves in a web of intrigue, battling political factions and encroachment by piratical aliens, rogue human and alien states and hostile empires seeking to expand their influence and borders.

Technology from many thousands of years prior to this so-called Hyperspace Age have been discovered for generations by all the powers of the galaxy, located on tens of thousands of worlds. Where have the creators of this technology gone? No one can say for sure.

In the darkest corners of the galaxy, an new and terrifying enemy rises. Known as the Azar-Sazul, this enemy has arrived from beyond known space, and prepares to unleash war across the galaxy, all the enslave all life and reforge it into their own image.

However, it is not just the Azar-Sazul that the squabbling factions of the union and humanity must face, for there are innumberable threats rising in lawless sectors of space or emerging from the void. Rebellions, dictatorships and the anarchic rise and fall of nations and regimes plague the galactic interior and the farthest regions of ‘civilized’ space, whilst extremist groups gain power and prestige amongst an increasingly diverse and rich galaxy.

The worship of darker forces prevails in the lawless tracts of space, as cults and terrorists gain influence and military power great enough to challenge superpowers in assymmetrical warfare.

Its not much, but I've been creatively restricted these past months. Plus, I've had to reconstruct what I've created since losing alot of my material in a hard drive that has refused to work again.

Influence-wise, I hold franchises like Mass Effect and Star Wars in high regard, and they've heavily influenced my thought process.

In a future journal, I will perhaps (depending on where I want to take this) detail the Azar-Sazul, for they are the most thought out of all my ideas, though they are still heavily Work in Progress.

It should be noted that I'm not aiming for the usual 'Oh, and our hero saves the day, unites the galaxy and saves the universe whilst still catching his falling coffee and getting the girl...'. Nah, its going to be far darker, realistic and rife with betrayal, alliances of convieniance, and some idealism, to balance it out.

Anyway, thats kinda of an overview of what I'm (trying) to create.
